Welcome

Hello and welcome to Malaysia Resuscitation Association (MyRES)! MyRES was formed in October 2015. However, the formation took many years of blood sweat and tears. The initial attempt to form the society was by a dedicated band of specialist dedicated to resuscitation; anaesthesiologists, cardiologists, physicians, paediatricians, etc. There were many challenges and the inability to give the name council. Due to the persistence of the founding members a constitution was drafted. On the advice of the Registrar of Societies (ROS), the decision was made to call ourselves “Malaysia Resuscitation Association” because the ROS would not allow the word “Council”. However we regard MyRES as the Resuscitation Council of Malaysia because MyRES membership consists of more than 20 societies and organisations with interest in resuscitation among others; The National Heart Association Malaysia (NHAM), National Heart Centre (IJN), College of Emergency Physicians Academy of Medicine Malaysia (CEP, AMM), Malaysian Society of Anaesthesiologists (MSA), Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), St John Ambulance Brigade, Malaysia Medical Association (MMA) and various Universities.

In the short history of MyRES, many activities and conferences have been carried out by the member societies and organisations. MyRES will continue coordinate and facilitate resuscitation activities in the country and to promote quality and standardisation technique. MyRES also envisioned to gain membership to international organisations dealing with resuscitation science.

With the guidance of the committee members I am convinced that MYRES will continue to move forward to fulfill its objectives!
